Yesterday marked a day of remembrance of the Nazi massacre in the Greek village of Distomo where 218 men, women and children where murdered by the Waffen-SS. Here is the “MP” and spokesman of Chrysi Avgi (Golden Dawn) proudly wearing his Waffen-SS t-shirt alongside members of the British Movement. The one on the right has a t-shirt that reads “Master Race”)

On June 10th 1944, a division of Nazi soldiers marched into the village and raped, murdered and even slaughtered babies and then burnt down the village. The first emblem of the neo-Nazi “party” of Golden Dawn was the emblem of the SS.
It is shameful that so many people support this truly horrifying Nazi party. Please do some research into their beliefs and history. Their presence in the parliament is deplorable. They try to distance themselves now from their Nazi beliefs and insist that they are a “nationalist party and not Nazi in any way. However, even the most cursory search online brings up some telling information.
Their leader Michaloliakos wrote this article in 1987 entitled “Hitler for 1000 years”
in which he praises Hitler and Nazism.
We are the faithful soldiers of the National Socialist idea and nothing else” and “[…] WE EXIST, and continue the battle, the battle for the final victory of our race”. He ends the article by writing “1987, 42 years later, with our thought and soul given to the last great battle, with our thought and soul given to the black and red banners, with our thought and soul given to the memory of our great Leader, we raise our right hand up, we salute the Sun and with the courage, that is compelled by our military honor and our National Socialist duty we shout full of passion, faith to the future and our visions: HEIL HITLER!
On August 17, 1987, war criminal Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s deputy in the Nazi Party, who was given a life sentence at the Nuremberg Trials, committed suicide. The following day, August 18, 1987, Golden Dawn members distributed proclamations in the center of Athens with the phrase RUDOLF HESS IMMORTAL
Their presence in a democratic parliament is a disgrace to the memory of the Greeks who suffered so terribly under the Nazis. As we remember Distomo, we must fight against the people who admire and support what the Nazis did there. As this sign in the village states:
We do not forget. We do not forgive.
